Octafluorocyclopentene — OFCP for short — is a special type of chemical. It belongs to a group. One technique combines two other gas propane cylinders chemicals, hexafluoropropylene and cyclopentadiene. Or you could combine cyclopentadiene and hexafluoropropene. They both require elevated temperatures and pressures for them to function properly. This means that the process has to be carefully controlled to ensure that it goes smoothly. Even so, when performed properly, nearly all of the materials used in the reaction convert into OFCP, making the process highly efficient.
But OFCP has another application that is more important: OFCP plays a key role in pharmaceuticals, too.
